Our family's passion for area rugs started in 1917 when A. Leon Capel introduced our very first braided rug. More than 90 years later, Capel Braids-American Originals are still crafted in our North Carolina mills with the finest wool, cotton, and performance blend fibers. In later years the need for a more diverse product line grew, and Capel Rugs responded by offering imported collections. Today our variety of unique area rug designs and constructions are sold through retailers, private label catalogs and stores worldwide.
